Trail Maintenance Thursday
Hello FAST Friends and Volunteers...
There will be Trail Maintenance Thursday @ 6pm at Leaders Park this week 6/25/15.
Here's what we want to do:
Trim back growth on West side of the park on all loops
Meet at the sign/kiosk at trail head near community garden.
Volunteers welcomed and appreciated. We'd suggest long pants, gloves and safety glasses.
Thanks!

The
First Day of Spring!
Trail
Maintenance Sessions
Bike
Swap A Success
Thanks to all vendors and supporters of the
Sioux Falls Bike & Gear Swap last Sunday! We had a full room at the
Downtown Holiday Inn and raised funds to keep FAST moving forward. The next
swap is tentatively scheduled for March/April 2017!
Unfortunately it's still a little too wet to
ride out at Leaders Park. Please give the trails time to dry out as the frost
continues to work its way out of the ground. A quick walk of the park last
night reminded us that even with the warm and windy conditions this spring
we'll all need to be patient. Some parts are totally dry and other sections
still have, ah, snow.

Riding wet trails leaves ruts behind that have to be repaired. It could be another week-to-ten-days before things are dry enough.

Trail
Maintenance Sessions
FAST is planning to start with Thursday night
trail maintenance sessions next week, weather permitting. We'll keep you posted
on schedule, timing and plans.

Sioux Falls Bike & Gear Swap 2015
VENDOR INFORMATION:
Howdy! Here is the pertinent information regarding the Sioux Falls Bike & Gear Swap 2015!
New this time around is this swap isn't just for bikes and bike related stuff...it's open to anyone looking to sell/buy outdoor gear...bikes, tents, jackets, skis, climbing equipment, water sports stuff, you get the idea. Anyone can sell stuff at the swap.
Tables are $25 up to and including the day of the event. lf you want to sell some stuff but don’t have that much you are welcome to find others to team up with. You work it out amongst yourselves. Or, let me know if you need, say, half a table and I’ll put you in contact with others such that you may share the table space and cost.
Your table registration gets you a 8 foot x 3 foot table, some chairs, and two admissions to the event. You may get as many tables as you’d like sorry, no discounts for multiple tables. lf you have complete bikes to sell, they will be sold from the Bike Corral. The Bike Corral will be just that a Corral in which you’ll put the bike. YOU must keep an eye on it. The $10 fee for the Corral gets your bike in there and one admission. Each additional bike to sell will be an additional $5. NOTE: IF YOU HAVE A TABLE, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SELL A COMPLETE BIKE IN THE CORRAL. YOU MAY SELL IT FROM YOUR TABLE OR PARK THEM IN THE CORRAL AT NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE.
This year there are around 30 tables for sale. They will be sold on a first come, first served basis. Doors will open for set up at 10:00 AM. The Swap proper will start at 12:00 PM. You don’t have to be there at 10:00 AM if you don’t need two hours to set up. Which table you get will be determined on a first to get there, first to pick basis. The exception is if you buy multiple tables. lf you do that, we'll pick your tables and reserve them for you and can work with you as to which tables if you wish or care.
Admission to this event is $5 per person and younger kids are free. All proceeds from this year’s Swap will go to Falls Area SingleTrack in our continuing quest to maintain singletrack within the city.
Click the link above to pay for tables with a credit card via PayPal.
PayPal-er’s can send money directly to fallsareasingletrack@gmail.org
Contact Adam Weischedel adam.weischedel@gmail.com or Brad Blomberg brad@m-1.com to reserve a table or with any questions. Thanks!

Annual Spring Cleanup
Saturday was our annual spring cleanup day. A couple handfuls of people walked the trail with garbage bags and picked up any litter and refuse that was visible.
Thank you garbage pickers!

Adam found and captured Dora, who seems to have gotten lost on her latest adventure.
In the end the yield was pretty satisfying. I think Leaders Park should get a prize for biggest littered objects.
